Fairways in good shape. Greens were a little under par but not bad

Course was in pretty rough shape. Layout was challenging and would have been near impossible without the yardage book that was provided. Many blind shots and a few ridiculously narrow fairways including 10sandwiches between a very large hill on the left and a lake on the right.

Muddy mess, hasn't rained in 2 weeks. Showed up at 6:45am for 7:45 tee time to warm up. Clubhouse not open, no one around.....pitiful. Sat there until some mower goes to bower and brings out a cart. We jump in and head to first tee without ever checking in or hitting a ball. At 8 while we were on 1st green...we saw someone come open clubhouse. I will never go back

Old Brickyard is a great course that has seen better days. The clubhouse, landscaping, and cart paths could use some attention. The fairways and greens are in great shape and very playable. The sand traps, however, are all grown in, and if they're not, they are unplayable. Even with all of the "negatives," it is a great course to play. It really has a ton of character, with major elevation changes, water, and general course design. I really wish someone would drop some serious money back into this course, updating the club house and landscaping. It really could be one of those "destination" golf courses. It's just a fun course to play. If you're in the Dallas area, you owe it to yourself to give the Old Brickyard a try.
